Even if you buy PC parts individually and build it yourself, each PC part still needs to make a profit to their respective companies, and since you're only buying one thing that price is higher (sony are getting millions of things, guaranteed sales = lower prices). It's the opposite, you're the one who's factually incorrect about everything, a prebuild isn't anything like a console, prebuilds actually need to make profits, consoles need to sell alot, because they aren't what necessarily make profits (lots of consoles sell at a loss, or at the most break even, the ps3 sold at a loss of $200), the consoles just facilitate profit making (they get cuts of games sold), and so there needs to be alot of them.
